Welcome to Beautiful Eyes Ministry! Thank you for stopping by our page, we are happy to have you here. Our ministry is located in Nashville TN, and we have a heart for helping the homeless in our community. The outreach is held every Tuesday night at the War Memorial Auditorium at 7:30pm.

Our ministry team meets at the War Memorial and distribrutes all clothes, food and water to the homeless. After everyone is done eating we hangout and get to know each person. We pray and build friendships, it's a great time and we love it!

Scripture we Live by

"Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, "my grace is all you need. My power works best in weaknesses." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

When we are strong in abilities or resources, we are tempted to do God's work on our own, and that can lead to pride. When we are weak, allowing God to fill us with his power, then we are stronger than we could ever be on our own. God does not intend for us to be weak, passive, or ineffective-life provides enough hindrances and setbacks without us creating them. When those obstacles come, we must depend on God. Only his power will make us effective for him and will help us do work that has lasting value.

Before the Outreach
we gather and pray

Every Tuesday at 7 o'clock, the team and visitors meet in the parking lot across from Crema Coffee Shop in Nashville. There we do last minute sorting and organizing on the bus. We then get acquainted with new people and come together as a group to pray. We always pray for protection for the Lord to shield us and use us to do His good works. If you would like to know more about what we do, click the link below for more information.

  • Angela Simms

Angela Simms is founder and leader of Beautiful Eyes Ministry, Angela Simms unexpectedly picked up God’s call to serve the homeless. This is her story:

"How Beautiful Eyes Ministry got started...it all began early last year in the fall of 2014. I went with a group of people from my church, SlowBurn to do street ministry in downtown Nashville. While I was there I kept getting drawn to the homeless but at that time I did not know why I kept being drawn to certain people. That night I left and sobbed the rest of the night. I could see their faces and I could felt their pain. I had seen the beauty in these people, and Jesus totally was breaking my heart for what breaks His."

"God started pressing the issue of homelessness on my heart. And that's where it started. One night I met a man named David Vaughn who I called Cowboy, after about an hour sitting on Broadway talking and listening to him, I could look into his eyes and feel the pain he was feeling but also what he had been through, I did not see the outside but I could see the beauty in him that Jesus saw. That night I had met others that I immediately connected with and I told them that I would come back the following week to see them."

"I would ask what they needed, and each night they brought more and more people to meet with me. Soon after I started building a team to go out to help me feed and clothe. Week after week God continued to provide resources, donations, food and the right people to go out and love on our friends in Nashville. Friends is what they had become to me. They are our friends and they are forever etched in my heart. Through this past year and a half my Pastor and Spiritual Father, Clint Thomas has continued to mentor, teach and guide me to be able to continue to walk in this destiny I was called to and this calling on my life. It has truly just begun and I am excited to see where God is taking this ministry."

  • Danielle LaFaye

Danielle LaFaye is co-founder and ministry leader in Beautiful Eyes Ministry, has been a part of the ministry since spring 2015. This is her story:

"I knew of Angela and Beautiful Eyes Ministry from attending services at SlowBurn Church in Franklin, TN. The Lord had been prodding me to get to know Angela and volunteer in her ministry. It was a few weeks before I actually got my nerve up to introduce myself and go to the downtown outreach for the first time. I will be honest, I was very uncomfortable and I felt like I was in over my head. I didn’t go back for a few weeks until Angela announced that she really needed help and the Lord, again, had put it on my heart to help her.

"I went back to serve at the ministry and remained uncomfortable for some time. I have never openly prayed over people before. So, I started with serving food because that seemed to be a comfortable place for me to start at. After a few weeks in, I found myself helping with the clothes and ministering to some of the homeless. Serving had become a real training ground for me. Before I knew it the Lord had done a lot of work in me."

"I will never forget the moment when I looked into a man’s eyes while praying over him, as I was praying with him Jesus showed me His love for the man. To experience God’s love for the homeless by looking through the man’s eyes and heart, that moment had forever changed me. I get to experience the love of God for this community every week. It is a privilege and an honor to serve God and to serve the homeless of Nashville. Through this experience I have grown in so many ways that I didn’t imagine were possible. I have fallen in love with the team of people I serve with, we are all family. My heart’s desire is for everyone to take this opportunity to change the lives of others, and for everyone to have their own lives changed as well."

  • Paul Wyatt

Paul Wyatt is a ministry leader in Beautiful Eyes Ministry. And he has been a part of the ministry since the beginning. God has placed this ministry on his heart, and this is his story:

"I was drawn to SlowBurn Church, I had gone a few times and I felt like the Lord was leading me there. Especially because I had a healing and deliverance ministry. And so, the Lord led me there. And through Slowburn that's how I met Angela. After about the fourth week in a row I realized He was leading me there to help Angela with her homeless ministry."

"For a couple months I started helping Beautiful Eyes with getting donations. At the time I wasn't able to go to Nashville with Angela and everyone for the Tuesday night outreach. Then after a couple months had passed I said I would start going with them. The Lord then led me to an idea of buying a bus. So God started giving me donations. And after so many donations I was able to buy the bus and we started using the bus to put clothes, food and water to take to the outreach."

"Since then God has been leading me to be more involved with this ministry. And each time I go, and each month that passes, He has been leading me to be more involved.

I really see this ministry growing. I see it growing with more financial support and more volunteers to help everyday. I see more involvement. I see myself getting more involved and I see more people coming to this ministry and getting involved. It's clear that this is the Lord's will for Beautiful Eyes."

  • Christina McMillan

Christina McMillan is a core leader in Beautiful Eyes Ministry, she has been a part of the ministry since fall 2015. This is her story:

"I met Angela Simms and became familiar with Beautiful Eyes Ministry one year ago in October 2014. I learned that Angela and a team of church members gathered together every Tuesday night to feed, clothe and pray over the homeless. I immediately felt the urge from the Holy Spirit to join them. I use to serve at a local soup kitchen in Rhode Island so the concept wasn't foreign to me. However I waited and prayed about it, but I had put the idea to the side. It was not from a lack of desire which held me back from becoming actively involved. There was a spirit of fear that told me I shouldn't. I let my mind interfere with what the Holy Spirit was telling my heart."

"I could see myself serving food and passing out clothes, but beyond that, what could I offer? What counsel could I give to someone who has nothing? I had never struggled with addiction, and I had never experienced being kicked being out of my parents home as a young teenager. I had no personal experience with living on the street. I felt that saying "Jesus loves you" to anyone homeless was too simple and not nearly enough. At the end of the night, I have a home to go to and they have to go find shelter under a bridge or sleep on a park bench. I heard God say, “Do it anyway.”

"So despite my feelings of inadequacy, I went. It was awkward at first. The ministry team had already established a relationship with the homeless. So I decided to serve food...that was familiar for me and that’s what I felt most comfortable with. Soon afterwards I began to help with passing out clothes to people.

Then I found myself watching the ministry team give words of encouragement and praying over people. I knew from that first night that Jesus was among what was happening here and I wanted to be a part of it. I realized it wasn’t about serving the homeless, it was about forming relationships. It was about seeing people as valuable individuals through the eyes of Christ. It doesn’t matter how or why they ended up on the streets. What matters is walking out what Jesus taught, "Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated."
